Jason got in a car accident tonight!
He is fine. That car is ... going to need to be fixed. The other people are fine.
He was on his way to help us ladies clean up from our craft night (yay for girls nights!!), and the roads were all wet from the downpour of rain we had just experienced. He was crossing an intersection and hit a car that was flying through a red light. He then watched the man spin out WAY down the road. He immediately calls me (luckily I was only 5 min. away) before even getting out to survey the damage.Turns out the other driver was “medicated” and ended up in handcuffs in the back of the police car. A witness stopped and explained how the other car had ran the light & was speeding, so there’s no question to the fact that Jason’s not at fault AT ALL. A man who lived right in front of where the other car had finally come to a stop (on the wrong side of the street, facing the wrong direction) told the cop that that driver had tried to start his car several times to get away. Thank God his car wouldn’t start!!
More then anything Jason was a bit freaked out. After watching the other car fly & spin half way down the street he was sure that driver had to be seriously injured. The cop commented on how lucky we are that there wasn’t greater vehicle damage given the situation. We’re thankful the intersection was pretty empty, thus other cars weren’t involved. And we’re very, very thankful for the witness who stopped (note to others: if ever you witness a car wreck, please - PLEASE stop!). And of course … more then anything … we’re thankful that everyone is okay (even the “medicated” man that’s at a police station somewhere right now - red means STOP buddy!).
Here’s our proof that Honda’s are GOOD cars! It held up so well! Granted we can’t open the hood …
Now what??? Insurance calls, rental cars, police report copies????? Ugh.
