Anyway, they did a show on the top 10 Mexican Beach Resorts and our favorite little spot in the world (Mismaloya Bay) was #3 on the list! We’re attached to this resort as we spent our amazing honeymoon here – the best 8 days off our life!

3. La Jolla de Mismaloya
Location: Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
What's Cool: The Night of the Iguana was filmed on the site where the resort now stands.
-----------------------------------------
Surrounded by the jungle, the mountains and the sea, La Jolla makes the most of its natural environment. Adventurous travelers can take part in the resort's many organized excursions, including mountain biking, kayaking, snorkeling, horseback riding and deep-sea fishing. On the premises, guests can take a dip in one of La Jolla's three pools, play tennis, shop or relax with a spa treatment.

We did the horseback riding (to a waterfall!), as well as the spa treatments. We tried the kayaking and those of you who know us well, already know that that experience did not go over well – LOL. We also spent a day on a small secluded island ran by natives who caught & then cooked us our lunch and catered to us as we laid around in hammocks; and then they served us dinner on our small table on the sandy beach, lit only with tiki’s and candles (there was no electricity on the island). They then preformed an authentic tribal show for us. It was by far one of the most amazing things I’ve ever done. I think we have that whole day on video somewhere. They bring about 30 people (tourists) to the island a day, and someone tapes random things, then they charge you for the video.

Anyway, I was excited to see “our” resort on TV!
